Barbara Couch's clients step 168 years into the past upon entering The McCarten House. The antique-filled circa 1830, 2-storey stone Victorian building is situated in the heart of Carleton Place. Barbara purchased this unique property in the Spring of '97 and has lovingly restored it to its original splendour. It is here, at The McCarten House where Barbara conducts her RE/MAX business along with her staff.
Original hardwood floors, etched transom windows and 10ft high ceilings adorn this stately stone mansion. Barbara furnished the entire building with ornate period antiques and treasured prints. Standing guard
at the entrance to The McCarten House is
a rare two hundred year-old Ginkgo tree well known for its medicinal
purposes. Well known in the Community for her decorating flair and Victorian restorations, Barbara, who lives in a brick Victorian home only two blocks away, states "When the business world is so hectic it is a pleasure to meet with clients in such serene surroundings". |
